About the challenge
The MATLAB Hackathon Uniroma2 is an event organized by MathWorks and the MATLAB Students Ambassador of the University of Rome Tor Vergata.
Unleash your hacking potential with MATLAB! During the Hackathon you will use MATLAB & MATLAB Mobile to create an application which uses your smartphone's sensors to collect, manage and develop data.
The Hackathon subject will be reavealed in the event day.
Get started
- Bring your laptop with MATLAB installed
- Install MATLAB Mobile on your phone
- Get the access to MATLAB drive
- It is recommended to try using MATLAB Mobile and Drive before the event
If you are a Tor Vergata student, you have free access to all MATLAB & Simulink software and resources, thanks to the Campus-Wide License. For more informations about, follow the link in the to-dos tab.
You can download MATLAB Mobile on your smartphone from the Apple Store or from the Play Store before the start of the event.

Requirements
What to Build
You will use MATLAB mobile to collect and export data from your smartphone's sensors; then you will build a MATLAB script (.m) or a Live script (.mlx) containing the code of the application. You can also use another program language to write the code, but using MATLAB will give you a bonus score.
You also will have to present your results, you can do it with a video, a PowerPoint presentation, a report, etc.
What to Submit
45 minutes before the end of the Hackathon, each team must fill out the Submission Form on Devpost. This form asks for:
- Team Name
- Team Members
- GitHub URL to project and a 5-minute presentation of the project.
- presentation could be a video, a slideshow, a written explanation, or any other means participants can think of. They should indicate which file(s) are the presentation in the submission.
